Top 10 Finish in USMTS Action at Lucas Oil Speedway
Calvin was back in action over the weekend and continues to lead the USMTS Rookie of the Year point standings for his efforts.
Jake was back on the road with the USMTS as the series competed in a 4 day stretch across the Midwest. The 4 day swing started on Wednesday at the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO. Calvin started on the pole of his het race and was able to come home with a second place finish. In the feature, Calvin rolled off 10th and raced inside the top ten all night long, crossing the checkered flag with an 8th place finish.
Thursday night at the 81 Speedway in Park City, KS, Calvin won his heat race from the pole and redrew the 4th starting spot for the feature. In the main, Calvin stayed out of trouble and came home with a 16th place finish.
Friday, the team made their way to the Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, KS. At the Hummer, Calvin ran second in his heat race, which earned him the 9th place starting spot for the feature. From 9th, Calvin raced inside the top ten for the majority of the feature, placing 12th when the checkered flag flew.
Saturday night, the 4 race tour wrapped up at the Tri-State Speedway in Pocola, OK. Calvin ran fifth in his heat race before coming home third in the night's b-main, qualifying himself for the night's feature event. In the feature, he rolled off 18th and worked his way forward to come home 11th when the night's 40-lapper wrapped up.
