Eighth place finish in Webster City Wrangle at Hamilton County
Calvin just wrapped up a 5 race swing with the USMTS across the state of Iowa.
Tuesday, Calvin competed at the Stuart International Speedway in Stuart, Iowa. He raced from 4th to 2nd in his heat race before earning the Sybesma Pole Award and starting on the pole for the 50 lap main event. During the feature, Calvin was battling for second and was involved in an altercation, which he ended up going to the tail for. He finished 19th.
Wednesday the series made the trip over to the Cedar County Speedway in Tipton. Calvin started 6th and finished 5th in his heat before coming home 18th in the night's main event. (Jacy Norgaard photo)
Thursday, the team made a stop at the Mason City Motor Speedway in Mason City. The weather caused the program to be rushed through as a storm was approaching, but Calvin managed a 3rd place finish in his heat race and an 11th place finish in the main before the rains came.
Friday, at the Rapid Speedway, Calvin ran 6th in his heat race and then raced home with a 13th place finish in the feature.
Saturday, the fifth of five nights of the Iowa Speedweek, was held at the Hamilton County Speedway in Webster City and Calvin capped off the week with a top ten finish. He ran third in his heat race and then came home with an 8th place finish when the final checkered flag flew.
